Division of Microbiology

The Division of Microbiology conducts basic infectious disease research using nonhuman primate models of human disease with an emphasis on emerging infectious diseases, infectious disease aerobiology, HIV/SIV, COVID-19, tuberculosis, Zika Virus, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Simian Varicella Virus (SVV), and Select Agent Research/research requiring high levels of biocontainment.

Woong Ki Kim, PhD

The Chair of the Division of Microbiology is Woong-Ki Kim, PhD, who also serves as the Associate Director of Research at the Tulane National Primate Research Center.
