Outreach and Education

At the Tulane National Primate Research Center, a core part of our mission is to educate the public about the essential connection between biomedical research using animal models and advancements in human and animal health.

We offer meaningful opportunities for students, educators, and community members to learn about our research and animal care programs through guided campus tours and off-site presentations. In 2024 alone, we welcomed more than 500 visitors—from junior high and high school classes to university science students, veterinary technician trainees, summer STEM programs, and local organizations.

We also host annual events that celebrate the curiosity and potential of young people in science, including our Women and Girls in Science Symposium and a new companion program for boys launching in 2026.

Through these outreach and education efforts, we aim to inspire the next generation of scientists while offering a transparent view into the important work we do to improve both human and animal health.
