Research

Research Interests

My primary research interest is determining the pathogenic mechanisms underlying Lyme neuroborreliosis. Currently I am exploring the role of Fibroblast growth factor receptor in Borrelia burgdorferi mediated neuroinflammation. Other areas of interest include bacterial pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions, apoptotic mechanisms in bacterial infections, and mechanisms of neurodegeneration.
