Accelerating Scientific Progress Through Strategic Partnerships

Partner With Us: Collaborative Research

The Tulane National Primate Research Center is a national leader in infectious and chronic disease research, offering unique capabilities to support studies that require nonhuman primate models. Our Unit of Collaborative Research serves as your dedicated partner for launching and supporting collaborative research projects—whether you’re from academia, government, industry, or a philanthropic foundation.

We make it easy for you to access our expertise, facilities, and biological resources to advance shared goals in human and animal health.

Our team brings together experts in:

Whether you're seeking biological specimens, designing a complex study, or exploring new therapeutic pathways, we’re here to help bring your vision to life.

We welcome a wide range of partnership models:

  • Specimen and data sharing
  • Co-designed research studies
  • Access to Core Services
  • Translational studies aligned with regulatory pathways
  • Long-term institutional partnerships

We currently maintain six species of nonhuman primates, with rhesus macaques most commonly available for collaborative projects.

  • Macaca mulatta (Rhesus, Indian and Chinese origin)
  • Macaca nemestrina (Pigtail)
  • Macaca fascicularis (Cynomolgus)

We tailor each collaboration to fit your goals, timelines, and resources. Sample-only requests can often be fulfilled within a week. More complex studies requiring protocol development and animal involvement may take longer to initiate. Factors that affect project cost include:

  • Species, age, and sex of animals
  • Study duration and scope
  • Sample processing needs
  • Technical and veterinary support
  • Pathology and immunology services
  • Administrative coordination
